Surprised there is no mention of Goodwill. It's fairly good for donating clothes as well as getting used clothes. Some of the shops are very un-orderly so be sure to checkout atleast 2-3 stores before making a judgement.

I have noticed this as well. Simply not putting my clothes in the dryer has made this problem go away.

Let's Chat was one of the first apps we packaged for Cloudron. We used to use it as our full time chat for our customers. A great feature is that it has XMPP support (can connect using any XMPP client). We have since moved on to Rocket

Wanted to add that after the dns-01 challenge went live, it has become even more awesome. Many customers saw opening up port 80 as a security concern for their firewall.

One of the best things to happen to the internet. We started working on our product a year before Let's Encrypt and in the early days onboarding new customers was a nightmare. This is because our product required a domain to work and w

IMO, the best way for an alternate messaging app to catch on (to WhatsApp) is federation. If we can figure out a way to have a common signaling protocol across apps and users can choose whatever clients they want, then they have a chance of

Great read, thanks for writing this. One of the hardest parts of doing a bootstrapped startup is the peer pressure and the perceived opportunity cost. The numbers won't add up for a bootstrapped business for many years (I am talking up

Yes, that's the core of our tech stack. All our packages are opensource (git.cloudron.io). Important thing for us is to have all the docker containers read-only and have a 100% reliable backup/restore mechanism because we do autom

We send our newsletters via mailtrain - https://github.com/Mailtrain-org/mailtrain with postmark as the backend. Where mailtrain falls short is the template editor but since we are geeks we get by with some raw html :)

Great point about D. I self-host at home (it's a thinkcenter m600) but it depends on external services. I use DO DNS and Let's Encrypt TLS, backup to S3. Not to mention I rely on comcast for internet and public IP!

For those in the market to run a private cloud, please try https://cloudron.io . Our motivation is to make it simple to selfhost apps . The main advantage is that we take care of automatic updates across all the apps we package.
