The phone is needed for caregivers to get the numbers. The CGM direct to Pump connection is all closed down as well, so features like remote Bolus don't exist in those systems.

The only blocker for a lot of these things to exist is just someone to make it. There is no money in it, the software is life and death sometimes, the total amount of users you can reach is world wide is probably like 2-3 million. The only

The Venn diagram of what the device needs vs what a cell phone has is so close, and the scale cell phones are made brings down their price so much, that a dedicated device would be more expensive, worse and more difficult to get.

Hopefully Apple keeps up releasing the smaller phone range. I would like to get an iPhone for my son, still a bit too big for him. Maybe when he is 7 :)

In New Zealand we have a single company that owns all the telecommunications wires. It was broken up in the 90's from a service provider because they were a monopoly and abusing their position in the market. Now we have a ton of option

If the trade off for macros is speed, size and usability. I am glad they didn't merge macros just to tick a box and leave everyone saddled with a bad decision going forward.

The current government is not very popular, to get in power the current PM had to make a deal with two devils (ACT and NZF). Fortunately they all hate each other and undermine one another at many points

It's an interesting hobby, but one that has recently been in the news in New Zealand for the wrong reasons where some bottle hunters dug up and destroyed some native trees looking for old bottles https://www.rnz.co.nz/n

IMHO: This is the closest thing to a "cure" coming out in the next decade. Like a couple injections a day, wearing a CGM to make sure it is working, no calculations, no worry about carb intake. A lot of the other "cures"

The thing I like about games is a clear objective that once achieved you have "finished". The thing I don't like about software is that no software is (or will ever be?) finished.

In London places won't let you use their bathrooms unless you buy something. The UK was by far the worst place I have visited for lack of public toilets. They also don't have many/any public fountains, which is insane around

I wonder what the rollout procedure is for CrowdStrike. I put $100 down that this was a minor update they decided was so minimal it didn't need extensive testing. So many places use the "emergency break glass rollout procedure&qu

My 4yo son has to have a phone to control his medical devices, we use a Kin Kong mini 3, which is pretty good. It has a few draw backs, but it being a bit more rugged than the jelly phone is useful.

Not an expert, but could you use something like https://enigmaprotector.com/en/aboutvb.html to virtualize a file system to create a portable exe. Not sure if the size would exceed your specs.

Yeah, but if you give juice or other yummy things every time your kid refuses to eat, then you are just rewarding them for refusing food. It is a very stressful balance.

My son was on CamAPS for about 6 months with the Dana pump. Systems like that are even harder to get out because it relies on 3rd party hardware. Medtronic, Insulet's and a bunch of other systems are rapidly becoming a walled garden wh
