This is my take too. Bootstrap and foundation's float hack grid systems kept us alive while CSS caught up to "OMG we need to display websites on mobile devices" Then grid and flexbox came along and gave us a native css solu

My hope is that Nvidia will just develop a launcher. I think a lot of people will jump ship to third party launchers because of this, though, and the damage will be done. Then we just wait for an HN post about thousands of Shield devices be

A lot of ad conscious users have been glad to pay the premium price for the Shield because of the ad-free experience. I've had the device for years and this is the first time I've been subjected to ads that I can't remove.

I've had the Shield for years and set them up for a few family members. I still believe it's the best device of its kind on the market and I've recommended it every chance so I have a lot of friends with them as well. In the

I hope so too. The disappointing revelation that follows those reveries is that, if it does come to pass, we won't be around to see it. It reminds me of Why We Can't Wait by Dr. King... >Time itself is neutral; it can be used e

The things you've mentioned seem like they fall in to the category of responses to increased awareness of CTE associated with contact sports. There's not dropping your kid off at the play ground... and there's not wanting y

These sorts of things are really useful and it's one of the reasons I think everyone should keep their dotfiles on github or similar so they can share their little tricks. Mine are just a compilation of stuff like this that I've p

It's a shame. Google Earth on VR is probably the most amazing and practical use for VR for normal people at the moment. I like to street-view in to other countries and stand in the middle of crowded places with people around me imagini

I respectfully disagree on the basis that, yes revision control is hard, but git provides a relatively beautifully simple api and vocabulary on top of an inherently complex and absolutely necessary set of concepts. When you're working

I think it's a tragedy that just about every developer uses git but most learn add, commit, branch, and merge and then just stop learning. A lot of people are scared of rebase and cherrypick and shut down or get defensive when you ment

And purge css is not some "other thing" you have to go get to use tailwind effectively, it's built in! You don't need webpack in the mix or whatever, you just need a couple of lines in your tailwind config. In real life,
