Something that would be a valuable addition to this idea would be a way of starting out by making purchases on demand, and then being able to easily automate them if they are regularly occurring. For example, I don't pay attention to how of

This is very true. Beer in Europe is largely disappointing except for the obvious highlights from Belgium and Germany, which are pretty much all readily available from a good beer store in the US.

This is a little bit out of date, but it is a good reminder to be careful.

Wow, that is the biggest codebase I have ever heard of. Does anyone know of anything bigger than that?

It seems like all Oracle ever does is buy companies, they are a notable omission from this list.

I was doing some research on what software currently exists in the alternative energy and energy efficiency space and I found this resource that I thought was worth sharing.

Yes, I think this comment gets it exactly. This kind of research always bothers me because it starts with narratives like the Big Bang and parallel universes and then (ab)uses the data to corroborate them. The problem is that, on a multiver

On a related note, Netflix will be joining the S&P 500 next year when they re-index.

I'm a little scared giving Google all of that personal data, but I suppose I'd rather they have it than Comcast. Also, a quick look at their privacy policy for that service shows it being relatively respectful of my privacy, at least for no

I think you're taking the article way too literally, especially considering who the author is (almost all of Yegge's rants are sarcastic or contain large amounts of sarcasm.) The dig isn't on Haskell, it's more on "industry" if anything. I

I would disagree that the TSA is unconstitutional under the 10th Amendment as you assert, because of the power to regulate interstate commerce (which certainly includes at least air travel crossing state and US borders) is an explicitly enu

I agree about Clojure's rough edges. I'm a beginner, and when something goes wrong it is very opaque to me what happened. That said, I do enjoy the language--especially the baked-in data structures.
