My observation would be that relationships are not Google strong suit. They don't really do customers or enterprise. Support has been lacking for a long time. They are not even that good at managing their brand considering their popula

I was more thinking of compromising. Making deals is, at least to some extent, what business is about and I don't see the differences as insurmountable. Maybe Google don't play nice with others, but there's firms that do that

While I think the situation is ridiculous, I also can't help thinking that if you're one of the most successful companies in the world and you can't get this done. It's either not that great of priority for you or you&#x

I don't see any problem in considering the good and bad of any technology, its implementation and its effects. I would say it's good engineering practice if anything. More than anything I think premature, excessive and/or mis

I guess that your opinion. The point is when you change the variables you change the outcome and it won't magically be for the better, especially since there's little precedence. It's pointless to loose karma over this on HN

Of course they are, everything else is just PR at the moment. That said, they are (the first?) global taxi company. No one is surprised that global retailers, like e.g. H&M, have huge headquarters.

It's not really comparable though. Most traditional degrees lead to long progressive careers. Practical software engineering can do, but generally doesn't. Other IT fields even less so. Especially since it's a degree heavy fi

I was never that upset about Hackers, but I've had my fair share of laughs at it over the years. I've had some revelations since then though. If you don't document things yourself, you don't get to write history. There j
