There is actually nothing preventing anyone from writing a browser for windows on arm. The issue is that the API makes it inconvenient for existing browsers to be ported. I've written a proof of concept HTML to WPF parser/renderer that work

I'm getting rather fed up with this witch-hunt so I'm going to defend the witches... Yes IE6, 7 and 8 were absolute bastards, but they've done good with IE9 and IE10 is looking even better. They know what they've done wrong and are making a

To be honest, we use JIRA and Fisheye. Their non-cloud solutions aren't much better. JIRA got killed for 2 days thanks to a bug in their workflow engine and Fisheye has been indexing our repository for 5 days now...

Well yes I admit that but I did the same before I even started the degree and I knew virtually nothing back then... And I wouldn't charge you $700 to fix it. I tend to do favours like that for cider, swap a few books or mowing the lawn for

Agree with hoovers. I nicked a Dyson DC07 out of a skip. It cost me 30GBP in bits and has done me for about 5 years now :) WRT computers, it depends on the computers and the availability of spares. You're screwed if you have a Mac as the pa

Good for them. I'm a firm believer that everything can be repaired cost effectively. You just have to know what you are doing, know when to give up, know how to spot a lemon and start from the right end of the problem. That is the art. Th

I've got a T61. It's widescreen but I kind of like that. +1 for ebay. I can buy a new one for 100GBP if this packs in.

I don't believe the figures until after they've been sold. The demand for Ubuntu is pretty much non-existent outside the technology enthusiast arena. Ubuntu is just not as polished as Windows either. OEMs also know there's an easy way out i

It was knocked down from 120 from someone who hadn't done their pricing research so it's fair game :) Taking from idiots is an evolutionary step. Look at VC funding!

To be blatantly honest, that is exactly what I'd write. The implementation is trivial and obvious therefore the probability of them being the same is high.

It works for that, but Roundup is poisonous to wildlife and plants are developing a resistance to it. How's your GMO now the rivers are poisoned and superweeds are everywhere?

Idiot. Roundup is a herbicide. There some problems with it: 1. Some plant life has developed natural resistance to it so it's not going to last forever. At that point, the non-roundup supported ecosystem will be dead so there will suddenly

Buying shit on Cragslist (or Gumtree in the UK) and selling on eBay and vice versa. My better half manages 500-800GBP a month with this quite happily. Persuaded some muppet to sell her a Korg Triton for 80GBP and got 580GBP on ebay for it :
