It's still that easy with .Net and Visual Studio :) XAML or WinForms still rock.

Do what you love doesn't pay the bills. If I did what I loved, I'd be in the garden or knee deep in solder. I do what I have to do, so I'm chained in front of Visual Studio.

Yes. It is standard on windows to use connection strings. Also it stops then node.js driver being coupled to particular SQL client versions. It does look rather gnarly but if you work with it for a bit, you will find that connection strings

it does make sense. The connection string is passed to the underlying SQL client as is. That means that you don't have to update the node driver code as well as SQL client if they change the connection string capabilities or SQL client vers

What about debugging and fix time and regression rate? Those are the things that concern me.

And all I've had to buy is Angry Birds, which is a tribute to how good the apps that come with the device are (Nokia Lumia 710 anyway). Super-happy with my Windows Phone!

I posted this article on HN. There is an underlying tone in the community but some of us make a living thanks to Microsoft. I am impressed that they have done this, which is why I posted it.

select2-2.0.zip contains a file select2.min.js which is 7KiB gzipped (it's 22KiB uncompressed). I should have stated that was the compressed size.

Thanks! This is considerably smaller than I expected it to be as well (7KiB minified) which is an acceptable size to chuck into our site.

I had one years ago that came from an IT auction for the princely sum of £40. That included basically everything but the PC including the big nest thing you had to stand in. I set it up to work with AlphaWorld on a windows 95 machine. It re

Can you just buy from another European country and import? German customs are pretty rubbish at catching such things from my understanding. AFAIK you only get screwed on retail purchases.

TBH my general health has improved after I stopped giving a crap about rules and regulations and just eat when I need to not when I want to. Determining between want and need is the hard bit.

I didn't find that, with the PC version. It decided to reorganise everything automatically after an iTunes update. I couldn't trust it again after that.

If you don't like the homepage/new tab thing (I don't), as there appears to be no options pane thing to disable it, do this: 1. visit about:config 2. Search for browser.newtabpage.enabled 3. Set to false

Similar. I keep my music in the filesystem in one directory and Zune just abstracts it behind a series of views (very differently to how iTunes does it). You get the best of both worlds then.

I sort of agree. I recommend the following: Use a kanban chart (don't be tempted to do it in JIRA or some other atrocity), fire all the meddling project trolls, fire any crap developers, fire your outsourcing company, get a DVCS in, drown y
