But I am a programmer, and this code is going to be written and read by programmers. The experience from AppleScript shows IMO that a more English-like syntax does not actually make the language simpler to use, it just obscures the underl

Seems cool in general. I like their point about "locality of behavior". Some of the syntax give me unfortunate flashbacks to AppleScript. Expressions like "the location of window" looks cool at first glance, but in reali

I guess the whole .net core mess made sense in the beginning, it just got out of hand. As I understand it, core was conceived as an experimental alternative runtime which made it possible to run asp.net on non-windows platforms. It was not

Microsoft is just so bad at naming things. ".net framework" means versions of .net before version 5. Version 5 is of course also .net and it is a framework, but apparently it is not ".net framework", since this term refe

Ok, but that is kind of orthogonal to the point I was making. I was just stating that it follows from the math that the notes in a 7-note scale are not evenly spaced. The same is true for a pentatonic scale, for the same reason: The interva

Yes, intervals are just ratios of numbers, corresponding to frequency ratios. 2:1 is an octave, 3:2 is a fifth, 4:3 a fourth and so on. I didn't even know this was controversial. Of course a lot of other stuff in music and music theory

I think it is just due to C# being a play on C++ (the # could be seen as ++ just rearranged to overlap). No doubt the positive connotations of "sharp" also played a role. Cb or C-flat neither looks or sound cool! That said, MS did

The spacings are not random, they are still based on ratios. They just include more intervals in (what we call) the octave. The linked article actually explains the math pretty well.
