But Apple is not giving the UK Government anything they didn't already have. Now iCloud encryption will function in the UK just as it has for years (decades?) before the inception of ADP.

I was hoping to see some discussion from the HN community too. After reading [0] I'm not in any hurry to be an early adopter. Sunbird does seem encouraging however and will be following their progress. [0] https://www.droid-

C-Band in the US is rolling out in 2 phases, the first uses spectrum from 3.7 to 3.8 GHz. The second - in roughly two years - adds the remaining 3.8 to 3.98 GHz. So for the first two years the spectrum used by C-Band 5G in the US is essen

This, in my opinion is an excellent text detailing how we arrived at the FAA/FCC C-Band face off. I believe it also answers many of the questions raised in this thread: "Boeing, Airbus executives urge delay in U.S. 5G wireless de

The initial deployment of C-Band in the US is from 3.7 to 3.8 GHz leaving a nearly 400 MHz guard band. Anything above 3.8 GHz won't be deployed for nearly two years, after the incumbent satellite operators clear the spectrum.

Absolutely zero weasel wording. The initial deployment of C-Band in the US is 100 MHz of spectrum from 3.7 to 3.8 GHz. The remainder of the auctioned C-Band from 3.8 to 3.98 cannot be deployed until the incumbent satellite operators clear

Nearly 40 countries have already adopted rules and deployed hundreds of thousands of 5G base stations in the C-Band at similar frequencies and similar power levels—and in some instances, at closer proximity to aviation operations—than 5G wi

I'm inclined to argue that ditching a SIM card in favor of Google voice is simply trading one form of "Surveillance Capitalism" for another.

Personally I typically don't buy anything based solely on price. For me I could save ~$3/mo on tmo, however after a month with tmo I found VZ coverage is well worth $3 more.

Encrypted DNS is great. My only problem (as a linux user) is that I want all DNS lookups on my machine to be performed by querying the servers listed in "/etc/resolve.conf". DoH as implemented by Firefox and Chrome break

I never like to see Amateur Radio lose spectrum. But if I'm not mistaken 3300-3500 MHz is currently allocated to Amateur Radio. So this would still leave hams with 3300-3450 MHz.

Frankly my gut feel is that Bitcoin transactions over Amateur radio is illegal, however I suspect it may be open to interpretation. Amateur radio is NOT strictly non-commercial. For example a licensed ham CAN legally use an autopatch to ord
