In India, almost all websites & apps, send a OTP to either mobile or email & ask you to enter that to login. Most of them have even disabled password based login flows. Really grinds my gears.

Agreed. Mid-sized/smaller players are the places which have very poor data & security practices. Especially when they require PII as part of their operations. Meta, Google are much better stewards of their users data. One misconcep

I've seen google maps suggest multiple routes with varying toll costs when driving in Southern India. Not sure what their criteria is for showing them.
