Pretty difficult since a unilateral declaration of independence is due in the coming days / weeks.

Perfectly right. But I fear that the opposition of the spanish government to a well organized referendum leaves us with this second rate opinion poll as the best we can get: 90% for yes, with 40% turnout. Pretty bad managed by Spain.

The spanish government could have chosen to let all voters participate, by creating the right framework for a once-in-forty-years popular poll.

We are discussing hypothetical life forms, different to the ones on Earth. Obviously we can not use a definition of life which only applies to earth-based life: we need to generalize more.

Trickle down is a completely uninteresting tautology: money is used by the wealthy, so it "trickles down". The more interesting question is if, while tricling down, people improve their life quality. Far from true.

It is extremely difficult to integrate in a foreign society. Even a good language level will only carry you so far. In my opinion, Western Europe, US and Canada are quite open, and let people, if not integrate, at least mind their own busin

Why is having a monarchy that nobody voted to get rid of more democratic than having a president people voted for? Why is your elected president hijacking the telephone network worse than your unelected queen hijacking your tv network?

Sure, Turks could also have rejected Erdogan (they voted for his reforms a couple of months ago). What are you trying to say? And what was the last time that the UK voted to be a monarchy? Because Turkey voting recently makes it arguably mo
