The new Web3 stuff has been the most exciting frontier since the bitcoin whitepaper in 2009. Urbit is super cool, ETH is really interesting. There's a ton of stuff happening in the space - like I imagine what 1999 probably felt like. Y

Yeah I looked at those when I learned of them. They often come with serious quality (and price) trade offs if you’re able to source them at all. If you’re looking for a generic LCD it’s probably fine, but if you’re comparing to an LG OLED y

I’ve found the android based TVs to be awful. Their boot up time is slow and they often seem to have trouble starting via the Apple TV remote.

When I researched them a while back I came away with LG OLEDs being the best, particularly if you paired them with an Apple TV. There are no good high-end “dumb” tv options.

I think Founder’s Fund and Thiel are desirable because of how they treat founders. I wrote that first comment before finishing the article (which is a good article people should read it). His first advice is basically to try to do what I as

Can’t you structure things like Zuckerberg or Palantir and just have the founder retain unilateral company control?

Sure - there’s no need to reply to 90% of recruiter emails (I don’t), but that doesn’t mean people need to talk so dismissively and condescendingly of them “recruiter spam” and such. Just don’t reply and be happy we don’t need to.

I’m not so sure, it seems to make people more delusional over time and more paranoid and anxious even from low dose usage.

+1 - I’ve always hated this behavior. It’s just a status behavior (“I’m so important, everyone wants me”, etc.) that’s wrapped up in pretending this is a problem. Be kind to people on the way up, you might need them one day on the way down.

Even worse Morgan Stanley will ask you for two factor codes over the phone(!). It’s impossible to implement good user behavior when the banks themselves are wildly negligent.

The claim was that Tesla wouldn’t ship Model 3s successfully and would fail. That claim is false. The stock price today may be a bubble, I don’t know. But Burry’s comments were before the current run up.

I have an HHKB, but I think it's mostly fun (and I guess fashion?) It's fun to nerd out about tools and play with them. There aren't a lot of ways you can customize standard hardware and keyboards are an easy case for all sor

The complaining about ETH/BTC environmental cost is probably the lamest anti-crypto argument. It's just this beaten to death: https://slatestarcodex.com/2014/08/14/beware-isolated-demand... With the

I get the impression you're not open to being curious about this, but I don't agree with your framing. You can have the DAO as a legal structure where the granted governance tokens do have power, in that case the 10k internet stra

Urbit IDs are the quickest example. NFTs can basically act as identity tokens that prove community membership. They can optionally have art as part of that (like BAYC), but they can also allow access to systems (like the Urbit network). Thi

Thankfully people that can’t admit when they’re wrong despite almost absurd evidence of their wrongness just don’t matter that much in economic bets. The people constantly predicting Tesla failure and shorting the stock lost all of their mo

Another annoying issue is with timers. When cooking we'll tell the one in the kitchen to set a timer. Then we'll ask what time is left. If another one hears the question it yells "there are no timers set" so we have to w
