Truth is, there are many platforms where you can distribute your works very effectively while ads are being shown, so there is at least competition, severalarket squares. There are also many ways to distribute your works lrss effectively wh

Well I am focusing in the commerical distribution aspect here, not the training aspect. Furthermore, for the case of image generators one could easily imagine that Midjourney could use only publicly and legally viewable/accessible artw

There's a certain prevalent belief that I consider a fallacy, which is that if A profits from B, then that must be to the detriment of B and B is being exploited. Irregarding of whether midjourney is exploiting the authors, the author

Why define AGI like that? General intelligence is supposed to be something like human intelligence. You are talking about ASI.

Funnily, for me intuition is the part of intelligence which I can more easily imagine as being done by a neural network. When my intuition says this person is not to trust I can easily imagine that being something like a simple hyperplane c

Afaik his small bot reaches 1300 and gpt-3.5-instruct reaches 1800. We have no idea how much and on what kind of PGNs the Openai model was trained. I heard a rumor that they specifically trained on games up to 1800 before but no idea.

I agree with you. Turing machines make sense and I can extend my intuition to a general idea of "dynamical systems can peroform computation", but I have no idea how quantum computing fits in there.

Could one say that they are basically performing certain physical experiments with particles, and obtaining measurements which would be extremely hard to obtain via classical simulations? Or is that a mischaracterization?

Well that makes sense, but I wanted to push against the result that the OP seems to take away from their test, which was that Marginalia seems to work well for the common user.

I just tested Mariginalia and it was completely unable to lead me to a Wikipedia or imdb page when searching for "driver ryan gosling" and variations. It just listed lots of random articles.

But isn't that the users problem? Also with a smarter reverse image search you can detect an infringement with similar reliability as to using google images.

How about this: Image generators should be treated like random google image search. They sample randomly from the distribution of publicly viewable images. Google does it exactly while Image generators do it in an interpolative way. Google

This interpretation of copyright only made sense while the transfer and storage of information was tied to physical objects. That time is long and we dont consider it infringement to remember a media or reproduce it at home. Furthermore, we
