Eh ... I question that 5% ranking is google's only contribution, even if it was important. Everyone stood on the shoulders of file systems and databases, ethernet (and firewalls and netscreens, ...) Well, maybe a few stood on the shoul

I'm sure you can find the whole sketch on Youtube. I can only recommend watching it, unless you are allergic to swearwords - there are lots of those. Look for [George Carlin Germs]. But I guess the audience on HN generally knows how to

I don't think that's a good argument. If I went this route, I would have to forgo Monty Python, Key & Peele, Mitchell and Webb, and god knows who else. There are always people believing this hyperbole, that's why it'

Oh, it gets a lot better, I just don't want to quote the entire thing. It's very worthwhile to watch this skit in its entirety. It's the first piece I ever read/saw of G.C., it made a lasting impression...

Is there actually a whitelist of sites where it's OK/necessary to enable JS ? I'd love to use that (although, I don't know how to load that list into safari or chrome.)

What does that matter for learning how operating systems work? But even then, SAYING that this is an how-to-build-an-OS project similar to those others, but focused on Rust, would be quite helpful.

I wish instead of discussing typos, folks her who surely know better (or author) could shed light on how this project compares to the many other existing projects, like https://github.com/cfenollosa/os-tutorial , http

For high volume services, you can still log a sample of healthy requests, e.g., trace_id mod 100 == 0. That keeps log growth under control. The higher the volume, the smaller percentage you can use.
