Hm that would be rather surprising. GBA was released in 2001; Thumb was introduced in 1994 with ARM7.

And honestly it was probably DEC's implementation that set ARM on its trajectory for world domination.

Why stop there? Package every binary in its own container, too! Most programs only use a few system calls, so you're not really getting anything by sharing a single kernel for the entire system.

The point of BLEU (and ROUGE and METEOR) is to correlate with human grading. It's unusual to find cases where a MT model change increases BLEU but hurts human ratings.

It's kind of interesting that in terms of perf/watt, it's actually slightly less efficient than Summit, which is over 2 years old. Also interesting that they went with a homogenous design (all Arm cores) instead of a heteroge

The fundamental problem is that the EPA tests (and tests in the rest of the world) were really designed to give an estimate of efficiency, not range. For efficiency, they are actually pretty reasonable; the MPGe and watt-hours-per-kilometer

EPA range is city+highway combined, which isn't really what any most car buyers care about. Range during city driving is irrelevant beyond a point; you're never going to go more than 100 miles per charge. Then the highway test is

Wearing masks being 100% effective is utterly impossible. The most positive studies show them being more like 85% effective. There simply are no infected people on Japan's transit, due to the country's intensive, early quarantinin

macOS has also has Jetsam (like the Linux OOM killer but much more aggressive) and swap-to-compression, so you're not as often swapping to disk as you'd think.

The dual vs single socket section really shows how much of a performance landmine NUMA is. You really need to properly pin your workloads, but that's a huge pain in the ass that often never happens during tuning.
