In certain aspects corporations already do have more power than government. However that's because of money rather than tech chops. It's important now more than ever for companies to have a viable security model.

If you can make the time than learning new things and taking courses is always a good idea. You never know where you're going to end up as a developer. Who knows you may end up changing the course of your career. Also machine learning
