FaceID requires special cameras and infrared lighting system. Perhaps they would add that to the mbp one day but that would be a crazy leak if they showed off that capability now.

Well, I’ve faced some rather hard to debug issues because of esd. Wastes a lot of time and so QA makes strict rules about it. Maybe it’s not actually too common but you can never really rule it out.

Patients in this article refer to positive tests and no hospitalizations. The article also mentions that they are currently not showing symptoms or only mild symptoms. This is expected based on our understanding of the disease. Media editor

there's a very widely used measure here in the academic community: instructions per cycle (ipc). IPC boils down to how many instructions can you actually complete per clock cycle once you account for memory, caching, etc.

I typically run a number of extensions: duckduckgo privacy essentials, ublock origin, privacy badger, and whatever built-in firefox has. Perhaps this is overkill but they all cover slightly different things.

The iPhone did two amazing things: 1) it offered full web browser experience. No one had done this in a phone yet. They also banned flash from day 1 and favoured development using standard web technologies. The side benefit from all of this

Sweden is not doing an experiment. They are taking the conventional approach. It is the rest of us who are undertaking a massive experiment. In the end, we will have to account for the collateral damage as well as any net lives saved.

I’m going disagree with this. Elliptic curves are just a scalar private key multiplied with a static point to make a public key. It’s very easy to make a naive implementation and there are far fewer gotchas.
