Thanks for the analysis, interesting to read! What about the lime-burning for cement, does it imply "only" net-carbon neutral as all the captured carbon is released upon cement production? And what about iron smeltering? I suppose

True and interesting point - but if you're able to produce as cheaply to "push out" dirty competitors and still have a net saving when including transport, it would still make sense I suppose. Also, there are always relativel

How "flexible" is the production? I mean during peak-sunny hours the price of electricity is well below that mark in some regions of europe? And would it e.g. make sense to scale up in a very sunny region & produce your own po

Same here. Switched 2 months ago after using WSL all the time & being annoyed over many things, including "failing updates" on windows. Did a dualboot but haven't used windows since. Game to add to your list: - CS:GO

Since it is no inherently present physical fact in classical systems, it will have to fight with classical problems (bugs / backdoors etc) which would throw you back to classical encryption for security

Thats fine, I just have trouble with ideas like german flood being the result of geoengineering not clearly marked as science fiction.

True, the capabilities & behavior of humanity will only really show when it gets "hard". If civilization & economy can hold up long enough to make massive efforts to recapture it could work. Im more realistic & think b

Yes, thats what I would count under behavioral / "stupidity", but if we had a source that is cheaper than petroleum already, e.g. SMR fusion we would automatically stop using fossils

Thats the great thing about eleven / playing ping pong in VR, you can play with other people, and it is bafflingly social, just because you have a strong presence of another person being in the "room". Everyone is kind &
