Everyone knows (or should know) Opera is adware/malware now, after the ownership changed. If you liked Opera, try Vivaldi. It's made by some ex-opera people, reminds me of good old Opera 6.

Mercurial was a bit slow in the first years. It's still probably slower for huge repos (I havn't checked), but I doubt it will bother you much nowadays. I used Hg before Git professionally, because when they were both new, Hg had

If you cover an area with trees that is today not covered with trees, that area will absorb CO2 from the atomsphere. Even if the trees die or are cut down, as long as new ones are allowed to grow, that area will absorb roughly constant amou

Which HTML 5 spec is that exactly? HTML 5 is a "living standard", which is a horrible idea for documents that might be archived for 10 years, like email. Note, I'm not condoning the status quo, but let's think about what

The alternative would have been opt-in instead of opt-out. Everything excluded by default, except what robots.txt allows you to index. Naturally, Google didn't want that.

Those two in-house programmers would never get the time to do this. They would be swallowed in various maintenance task on the other 500 custom systems the state owns. (from experience in the private sector)

What does Vivaldi do that you don't like? They have a new "abusive ads" filter, but other than that I'm not aware they do anything, and you can run uBlock origin from the Chrome store just fine.

I'd stay away from Opera. If you don't like Firefox, try Vivaldi instead - feels like "old" Opera, made by the same people, mostly.

DST was introduced in most countries during WW1 and/or WW2, to save fuel [1]. It _might_ be the case that golfers are the ones arguing to keep DST now, I havn't really noticed. 1: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/

Agreed - I thought this looked pretty reasonable, if a bit parenthesis-heavy, until I saw this example: func printSum(a, b string) error { fmt.Println( "result:", try(strconv.Atoi(a))

I've had this problem on Facebook. I've reported some ads for various (relatively benign) scams for herbals and the like, that use a famous newspaper as 'their url', when they have nothing to do with it. Facebook closed

Vivaldi is only slightly more closed source than Chrome. Anyway, used to be Firefox had a lot more going for it than being open source. Now that's really the only thing left I can think of.

I'm not gonna bother with 'studies' or manual workaround - I'm just going to wait for an update. In the meantime I'm enjoying trying out Vivaldi[1] - really reminds me of opera 3/4, that I loved. 1: https:

In primary school, we learned to look 'left, then right, then left again' before crossing. This is really muscle memory for me now. That would have to be reversed in a country with left-side driving.

This is really not a new fight. It used to be tabloids vs "real" news - I'm not sure how different today's online battle is. Except for some reason, most of the "real" news are becoming tabloids when moving onl
