This is a mafia-like tactic. "It would be a shame if anything happened to the rest of your games..." A state attorney general should weigh in on this.

1) The caveats of NFS can be crippling if you are a rubbish sysadmin. NFS requires a more thorough understanding than what you can get from a tip sheet. 2) Samba is single threaded, performance will suffer serving SMB from a Linux machine.

Zoidberg probably would not hold up if challenged, because the opportunity to decline the license and return the software does not materially exist. But I realize that until someone tries it in court, it's just a theory.

The words in the license don't matter, everyone had the right to transfer their software from one computer to another the whole time. See: http://cr.yp.to/softwarelaw.html

How much have those $billion+ companies donated to the OpenBSD project? Even a fraction of what they didn't have to pay vendors for support contracts? OpenBSD WILL disappear if not supported, no matter how useful it is.

I don't believe any of what I suggested would be a violation of the license, unless there is language in the license forbidding virtualization, or giving a solution to the ship of Theseus problem.

The same questions apply to a real computer. When MS introduced activation on Windows XP, they spelled out what hardware changes would require a reactivation. Which was just an inconvenience, it didn't terminate your license to use Windows.

Agreed, this is not what I expected and this is not the Linux way. I guess I'll make a Ubuntu account so I can give Steam a once over, but if I wanted to be abused I'd just get a MAC.

This guy should widely distribute the SFTP creds being used by the backdoor agent on his computer. Then we could all be helpful by uploading useful data to the Canadian government's spy server.

Piracy illustrates the fact that it's not possible to regulate 3D printing, but even if it were possible, it would be 100% wrong. I don't know how it ever became generally accepted that every possible object and action must be regulated by

Plenty of irony on that site. I liked the ad for a $300 discount card disguised as another article. Promises to let you live like a "founder" by buying high priced crap from Bonobo at a discount. Very well targeted for the ycombinator crowd
