Well, you're not missing anything. These arguments fall apart the moment 'stealing it' becomes part of the discussion. The correct way to protest a content offering in our society is to not consume it. That's actually tr

Probably, but what for? It doesn't seem feasible to support every common binary type, and are all common binaries even understood well enough to do this?

This is the sort of question that needs a blog post to answer, IMO. I have not had enough time with any of these tools to speak to the pretty, but I can speak to the ugly. The chief issues with these tools on Windows are package management,

I guess it depends on what kind of company you're working for. I work for an enterprise software company, and if my situation were like yours, I would be looking around for either a new job or a house/apartment closer to the offic

This article doesn't say anything about it, but I wonder how these businesses were handling their taxes in the first place. Helping you avoid these scenarios is one of the things a good CPA firm does.

This is a solid oxide fuel cell, right? What makes this one better than the bloom energy devices? Speaking of which, what happened to the bloom boxes? Are the big customers still customers?

The XFS-as-default change is surprising. Does anyone know what drove this? I don't keep up with XFS development on Linux, so I don't understand why it's a better choice vs. EXT4 for RHEL7 than it might have been for RHEL6. ed

I guess this was downvoted for the unnecessary sarcasm, but the linked thread was the first thing that came to mind when I saw this new github feature. A lot of unfortunate ignorance and anger-in-response could have been avoided (or at leas

I didn't get that this was supposed to be 250x more efficient, just that it required ~250x less energy and was potentially more efficient. It reads like there is a minimum amount of energy required to establish and maintain a laser bea

What qualifies the system as 'mini' anyway? I have a fanless i5 on a thin mini-itx; it's a sandy bridge i5, so it predates this by a couple of years. The case is not nuc-sized but it's pretty small and thin-itx only.

Yes absolutely, especially on a Windows system: no post-boot lag, no lag due to paging, bitlocker overhead can be eliminated depending on configuration, etc.

In at least one US State, your property taxes are different if you're living in the home vs. renting it out. In my case, losing the homeowner's exemption would almost double my property taxes. I'm not sure if you get to deduc

I'm a lot more curious about what the point of this is. Beats is about more than just headphones - they have the branded audio systems in some laptops and I think phones - but I didn't realize any of it was technically compelling.
