Most CVEs for Java are about untrusted code escaping the sandbox. No one is saying JavaScript is a bad language for server side development despite browser sandboxes constantly leaking. Yes, there was a popular logger library that was writt

I think the point was that the big corporations get the money from selling music. And saying that bands currently make more money from touring kind of proves the point. They get too low % cut of music sales.

Few options. Use a browser that has supported screen sharing on Wayland for many years: Firefox. Or petition Microsoft to enable the Wayland-enable bits in their electron build. Electron has supported screen sharing on Wayland for soon 5 ye

How long did you run the benchmark if you got so large variation? For simple methods I usually run the benchnarkes method 100k times, 10k is minimum for full JIT. For large programs I have noticed the performance keeps getting better for th

For very simple things C might be accidentally faster. But C lacks many modern data structures, which are critical for performance on modern hardware and bigger input data.

Wouldn't the simple fix be to delay backend (= one connection) closing until all pending replication it initiated is finished? That still leaves actual crashes, which would need to use the shared memory to store the list of pending rep

BTRFS Raid10 can seemlessly cpmbole multiple raw disks without trying to match capacity. Next time I just replace my 4T disk in my 5 disk Raid10 with 20T. Currently I have 4+8+8+16+20 disks. MD raid does not do checksumming. Although I beli

Kernels enable IOMMU of the CPU, which limits the memory areas of the NIC can access to only to the memory it needs to access. This is also why it should be safe to attach pcie over thunderbolt devices. Although I think for Intel CPUs the m

I think modern Intel/AMD have same amount of dTLB entries for all page sizes. For example a modern CPU with 3k TLB entries one can access at max: - 12MB with 4k page size - 6GB with 2M page size - 3TB with 1G page size If the working s
