I think that in America most people still use SMS, but in Europe barely anyone I know does, so RCS is basically a non-starter. It's all WhatsApp and Telegram (and some Signal). Like my kids sports teams coordinate everything through Wh

I recommend something like Cloudways for Wordpress. It's like a layer on top of Digital Ocean/Vultr/Linode. Try the Blocksy theme with Woocommerce.

I hope it sticks around. I have a Mac and a Nintendo Switch for the kids so I don't really have a good way to play games, unless I buy a console. I've been playing Red Dead Redemption 2 on Stadia and it's been great. No downl

Yeah they just built their algorithm to suppress poor and ugly people, no need for mods to do it. Not sure if that's any better.

I guess because I think that Hyperloop is a really dumb idea I must be extremely envious. This smells like a way to justify ignoring difficult criticism. The critics are envious, they're trying to look sophisticated, they're not r

I really disagree personally. I already have a really snappy interface... my phone. I use it to control YouTube, Plex, etc. Then I just send it to my TV via Chromecast. If I had to navigate using some other remote that I would inevitable lo

Can someone explain to me why the knowhow that European companies like ASML have can't be used to build these foundries. Why do they need Intel or TSMC?

Yeah I think the Jamstack folks have decided to use headless in an entirely different way. For example search for headless CMS you'll find loads of CMSs that just run on a server and use an API to talk to the client, but they're j

It's just HN. It's just like the reaction to AMP on this board. Most clients like the feature if it speeds up the site and brings more visitors to the site. Here, you'd think it represents the end of the internet or something

There's no way this is what this is about, no? This seems totally fine, whereas the article makes it seem like they were actively tracking your location while telling you they weren't. If this is it then I disagree completely with

Sure, being a parent is a massive moral responsibility. But the facts are that many kids have shitty parents through no fault of their own. I see kids who's parents let them go on Youtube/Tiktok for hours with no supervision. The

I don't really understand why people say this. I'm using Firebase in my Flutter app but I've completely abstracted out the implementation into service classes. The business logic just calls my service auth, fetch data, etc...
