Despite being 50yo and much more of a PC guy than a console gamer, I actually pre-ordered TOTK. Even though BOTW was my first Zelda game and also my first open-world console action/RPG, I really enjoyed it and was impressed with what

You know you're old when you see a title like this and mistakenly assume that it's related to the Palm Pilot ;) Why do we have AI things named palm and lora when we already have other things named that? Also, get off of my lawn.

I often wonder how much of celebrityhood [minor or major] is a cause of mental/emotional health problems, and how much of it is an effect . Trading your privacy and dignity for likes and dollars seems like something that is tricky

I went to college way back in the era when you printed out your labs and handed them in physically to the prof. Even back then, there were students who would rummage thru bins looking to find "inspiration" (cough cough) from othe

Even as an oldschool C programmer, I would be hesitant to do somthing like this in C. Why not C++, where you can stay close to the metal but enjoy a few niceties?

In the same way that Walmart is one of the great victories of the retail industry. It snuffed out small independant competitors, dominates an industry, and wields its tremendous power in a negligent, self-serving, and irresponsible manner.

My current project is the first where we decided to use "real proper" authN/authZ instead of a home-brew solution or a minimal solution like asp.net simple auth. I found that all the off-the-shelf solutions were either easy

Oh you racers are crazy people. Me and my buddy are just trying to feel the wind in our hair. Maybe anchor for a night or two; maybe swim or catch a salmon.

My buddy is a bit of a perfectionist, so is always trying to resolve perceived shortcomings in various systems. And if we were doing a trans-oceanic race, that fixation on performance and safety would be worthwhile. But we are doing coast

Last year we implemented "ymodem over BLE" for reasons that are complicated and possibly stupid. It felt familiar but strange and wrong to do such a thing. Worked great though.

A great example of this is my sailing buddy. Last year, we probably spent 60 hours working improvements and noncritical fixes, 100 hours on discussions and watching videos, and about 6 hours sailing.
