Are you saying Hackintoshes are known to sometimes generate executables that differ from those made by real Macs? That seems really unlikely to me.

It has to be understood that OS design isn't taught in "OS design" classes and books like "OS concepts" are a twisted joke. Teaching low-level implementation details of Unix in OS Design classes is the quintessence of a CargoCult. The mate

Perhaps most users, if asked "would you like Facebook to show you everything or should it filter some stuff out for you automatically?", would pick the former. But it's not necessarily the case that they'd actually prefer that in practice.

I'll be contrarian and say importing/exporting aren't required for the first release. This isn't about being a replacement for Excel on a computer. It obviously should come soon, though, and my expectation would be to see it in a free upd

Not sure what you mean when you refer to a company being flexible enough (or not) to handle fast changes in valuation — I wouldn't imagine there has been any significant change to Apple's operations or strategy during their recent stock pri

Cook's a terrible guy to be the same type of CEO as Jobs was. But it doesn't follow from that that he's a terrible CEO, and I think it's exactly why he took the opportunity to elevate Ive to head of all design.

Are you implying this isn't a real app that will be available soon? I like to think I'm pretty good at "getting" hoaxes, and I'd definitely guess that this is "a real thing". (Though I wouldn't be shocked if it weren't...) Edit: OK it loo

Yes - if you watch non-techie people use tech, often the biggest obstacle is just starting to use the thing. Then when they do, their persistent fear clouds their ability to learn/use the thing well. This makes me think that approachabili

Yeah, I cringe at seeing a share sheet shown by a double-tap on a grabber. For one, I strongly expect share sheets on iOS to be shown only by the normal "share" icon; for another, I don't expect double-tapping on a grabber to do anything. I
