Fun fact: In Japanese there is no "Si" sound and the closest is "Shi", so "Siri" is pronounced "Shiri". You know what else is pronounced "Shiri" in Japanese? Buttocks (尻).

Something I've often wondered but don't think I've seen studies of is whether those decreases in fatalities are "compensated" by an increase of injuries. IoW, there could very much be more accidents and at the same

Indeed, that one can be funny especially when split over a line ending. You start reading it as one, and no, it was the other. I've had this experience several times with this specific word.

Also some independent words can have different readings. Eg. 紅葉 is both こうよう and もみじ.

cxx doesn't necessarily help for cases like refactoring legacy C++ code. It seems to require more work than bindgen. I suspect switching to cxx in Firefox, to replace bindgen, would be quite involved.

That's probably not the case of the land attached to the houses mentioned in the article, though. That said, I also read somewhere else that the $500 are not actually a sell price, but a rent price. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

As siblings have already said, the land is not worth nothing, but the article doesn't seem to say, from a quick glance, whether property of the land is included in the transaction. Because in Japan, land can be rented too (yes, you can
