I've had a similar experience. I avoid most Bluetooth devices as a result. I can vouch for the CMF Buds Pro 2. They're the first bt buds I've had with good noise cancelling on mic that weren't made by Apple.

Does this run on existing local postgres instances? The linked site seems to be a web service with a request access button. If it can be run without use of an external service, I'll give it a try.

I do the same with viture pro xr glasses using a Bluetooth keyboard. It's been great when I'm having neck/back issues that require laying down to recover. The downside being that xr glasses cause a bit more eye strain, whic

Frigate has been ok for me when paired with a gpu or tpu for to speed up the object recognition features. It's the closest I've found to the usual IP camera cloud sold by the IP camera manufacturers. That said, it's installa

I wanted to do something similar 3-5 years ago, and while I found that you could order the Taptic Engine, I couldn't find any good info for driving them last time I checked.

I had a similar response. I started the process of "unpacking" as soon as I read it. I have encountered many people who don't do this to such an extent. I'll admit that I'm a bit envious of their ability to have a

As a Linux fan and owner of a Sync 1.0 vehicle I feel your pain. I want to replace it with something aftermarket, but the cost of a dash kit is pretty steep if you want one of decent quality. I reboot it weekly, which takes minutes, so it

Hardest to cool cpu I've ever owned was an AMD Athlon 3200+. I remember moving to P4, and life got a lot easier. It still ran very hot, but it could do so without frequent crashing. This was before the giant coolers that we have tod

Glad to see I'm not alone. The fuzz face clone from tonepad was my first project. It's really satisfying to create stuff using a tool you've created.

Is there a way to remove the author trust factor? I suppose you'd have to pay in crypto to keep it anonymous, and this app would give you a random QR for a strangers wallet. How can you confirm that it's not the authors wallet,

Interesting, the closest target to me has stuff locked up like that. It's in a rough part of town, so I suppose it's just location based for all chains. It seemed like things that would be beneficial to the homeless had priority

I do this too, but I use 3 years instead of 10. I think that's mostly due to the idea that lifetime memberships are most often offered by start ups that can be very short lived.

When I read the bit about feeling a microwave oven running, it made me wonder what those revolving TSA scanners would feel like by comparison.

That's been my experience too. The main complaint I hear about this workflow is that venvs can't be moved without breaking. I just rebuild my venv in each new new location, but that rebuild time can add up for projects with man

Are their Linux drivers good enough to compete with AMD GPUs yet? Last time I checked was a few years ago, and it seemed like there were still quite a few issues with games running in proton.

I'm really looking forward to taking this for a spin. Thanks for sharing. Question: Can this handle network disconnection/instability mid copy?

If anyone has info on Nvidia GPU and steam/proton gaming stability, I'd be interested in hearing about your experience.

I can't help but think that this sounds more like a failure to optimize at the software level rather than a reasonable hardware limitation.

I really wish more hardware companies would open source their companion software. I've avoided purchasing so many devices that had half baked software that could have been great with a bit of help.

Having a stateful frontend and stateful backend sounds like it would be much harder to test. I'm sure that's fine for larger companies with many test engineers, but the extra work involved could bury smaller teams.

I've been eyeing this project for quite a while now, but as mentioned in its FAQs, I usually get scared off by the idea of pulling in a large dependency. If anyone's made the leap to use it in a project, I'd love to hear abou

I've noticed the same thing. It's the delay between waking up and freezing that makes it so frustrating. I'm using Pop_OS on an AMD 7950x + Nvidia RTX 4080. I'm using the proprietary Nvidia drivers, so I blamed that in

What made it more productive than the usual mainstream languages? I'm coming from 10 years of OOP leaning C++/Java/Python, and have been seeing the beauty of functional programming in the latter half of that time. It's
