Instead of trying to make a shell script portable across all different shells, I prefer to just use #!/bin/bash and not worry about it. (Of course bash version compatibility is a concern of it's own)

This really highlights one of the disadvantages of everything going to the same physical port - it's not easy to tell what the capabilities of the port and cable are.

Can anyone explain how the anti-lag feature works? And why would it result in a ban?

One of the benefits of the arena that the OP mentions though is that old pointers are still valid as long as the arena is still valid. That's not necessarily the case with realloc. Interesting idea to skip explicitly tracking capacity

Just curious about the degree of compatibility with node, can I alias/symlink node to bun and everything will continue to work but faster?

I also like https://github.com/Byron/dua-cli , does disk usage like du but also has an interactive mode which makes finding and freeing up space a breeze.

Yeah those hikes sound pretty epic. My original question was more about finding a tiny segment of those hikes that would be close to civilization and could be done in a few days.

Does anyone know if a similar path (scenic, close to towns/cheap hostels along route) exists in the US? Somewhere in Appalachia perhaps?

Ok so garbage collection is optional, how about garbage generation? Is there any way to manually clean up resources if GOCG=off, or will memory usage continue to grow unbounded as new objects are created?
