Bash uses readline, so setting it in .inputrc would be sufficient for bash, but it will also get applied to other apps using readline like gdb. Setting an .inputrc also allows you to configure other niceties like colored-completion-prefix a

What size model did you try and how much memory does your M1 have? See my other comment, my experience has been that llama3 was very fast on an M1.

Compared to a GPU like a 4090 with equal vram it probably won't fare well as others point out, however it far outperforms any CPU. On an M1 Ultra MacBook Pro I was seeing like 40 tokens/second with llama3:7B vs 9 tokens/secon

If in bash, you can use the 'allexport' option and source the .env without having to add 'export' in front of every line: #!/bin/bash set -o allexport . .env set +o allexport cmd

One way to easily achieve those three rules is to switch to barefoot-style shoes. They force you to slow down and take small steps. Don't have to go full 5-finger shoes either, just something with zero drop, a flexible sole and minimal

That wouldn't help find this particular resource leakage since the memory is still referenced somewhere by the app - so LSan wouldn't regard the memory as leaked.
