And more likely to disclose it perhaps? There are a lot of breaches that you will never hear about because they go undetected or undisclosed.

With that many servers you probably have to reboot a few of them pretty often.. You'd have to live in the datacentre :)

Well, isn't it hard to make a startup take off without ever physically interacting with other people? A few years ago I was writing my master's thesis, and because I was in a hurry at the end and I didn't have any lectures I was spending a

Wow, props for going "all the way". I have to wonder though, is this a wise choice? If the product alone, e.g. the code, is what drives investment it surely is.. But I would guess that's only one of many factors. People are scared away from

I'll take that as a "yes" ;) AFAIK, neither signatures or "something you have, know" alone fixes replay attacks. Since this is a well known problem in cryptography, many solutions exists. All of which are probably overkill for this use.

What are the benefits of doing this instead of just requiring authentication with every request? Is it because the authentication part is a lot of work for the server or client? Is it for the negligible (in this context) security benefits o

I get that you can expire it, and that helps, but it's not the same as use-once. Of course, just using a timeout is probably fine in many cases, especially if it's used with SSL. But replay attacks are still possible since there's a windows

Doesn't this open you up to replay attacks though? Since you can't store that a token was already used..

Does it make sense to think bout this as a "library" (you pull in what you need)? Contrary to the Bootstrap framework (fill in the missing pieces)?

Most sensible websites don't use MD5 anymore What makes you say that? Do you mean new sites or all site? Got anything to back it up? I would guess most sites in existence use MD5, SHA1 or similar with 1 round, because it was (is?) very

What's wrong with BerkleyDB, Tokyo Kabinet, Kyoto Kabinet, LevelDB .. ? It's a real question because I haven't actually used them. SQLite is fine, but if you don't need sql they probably fare better.

If you actually need something like this, there's Kyoto Cabinet, BerkleyDB and others that are well known and well tested. Why use something new with no apparent benefits? (and a lot of drawbacks) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berkeley_DB

I see it more as a move from "one size fits all" to more specialized tools. The term "nosql" is pretty useless as it's way too general. Both your comments about "not implementing the hard stuff", and GP's about schema, only applies to some
