Good to know about the GUI! > ETA: Oh hey here it is: https://github.com/heyvito/podman-macos This GUI isn't an official Podman application. It's a third party. Not that it's bad or anything, it'

Yep. Podman takes cares of those things using the `podman machine` sub-command. From what I understand, currently only macOS might be working, but Windows support will be coming if it's not already there.

From what I've seen in all these Podman articles, I've come to the same conclusion as you. This is how Podman fits in: Podman (and its various components) can replace everything but parts of Docker Desktop, namely the GUI that Doc

Speaking of terrible turn signals, Technology Connections on YouTube did a very informative (though a bit ranting) video on them in the US. Worth a watch and really interesting. https://youtube.com/watch?v=O1lZ9n2bxWA

This is loaded statement. I have a 3 year old account and later I added another one. Was your account free? Did you end up not logging in for a while? Seems reasonable for them to delete inactive accounts.

This feels like a job of USB-IF, not government. They should have been enforcing this from the beginning.

I assume this depends on the role as well? I'm not German (nor do I live there), but if someone told me I'd have to put a picture on my CV for an engineering role, and I'd be very weirded out, especially as a foreigner.

The issue with these REPLs is for whatever reason it doesn't come close to the experience of say the python REPL. I have been hoping for the Go devs to build a REPL into the tooling but so far nothing has happened yet.

Off-topic: I know one of you smart folks here at HN have figured out how to do something similar to go playground in the terminal that makes it easy to write a script, and on safe it go fmt's + imports, and then runs it. Something with

Why do they need to? Sure it'll be nice, but depending on your market, maybe that's an unnecessary implementation detail.

Interesting to know. I'll have to look into that. AdGuard Home can be set up easily with DoT and DoH so I'll have to try that.

I'm still in the stages of setting up a fullt featured firewall at home, but I wonder what would happen if you block doh/dot addresses completely in such cases. Something to try in the future when I have my home network set up pro

As an alternative, I use asdf[0] which is written in bash. It allows you to manage versions of any package through plugins. Plugins can be written in any language (as long as they can be set to chmod +x). Most plugins are written in bash. T

For those of us who know less about these things, how does this compare to something like OPNsense/pfSense in a homelab setting? When would one use OPNsense/pfSense over OpenWrt/Tomato?

Obesity is a crisis in itself, however, when some 100 companies have produced 71% of global emissions[0], it's not individuals, who in total would potentially reduce CO2 emissions by 0.2%, that are causing this. It's these compa

I ended up writing some scripts that automate the set up of kodi. Periodically my Android TV gives out so I have to reset it (it's an old TV). Having automated the set up of kodi has allowed me to get back up and running in minutes.
