This is... Simply not accurate. NYC job market for tech is extremely hot and getting hotter. Consider that your perspective might be skewed because people in lower COL areas tend to be those who place more emphasis on COL?

"Data science", as originally conceived, is something that requires an existing base of engineering infrastructure and scale (and decision-making culture) that's typically only found in a capital-T Tech Company. But 5 years o

I worked in 3 DS roles over ~5 years, and recently made the "official" jump to SWE. I've also interviewed dozens of candidates for several openings during that time. This post rings extremely true to my experience, and largel

Cost cutting pitches from some HR team hardly counts as "whistleblowing". The anti leaking sentiment at Google is pretty firmly grassroots. It's an incredibly narrow lens into a huge operation that necessarily creates an extr

The top two comments are currently the most complained-about strategies (whiteboarding and take-home assignments). I think the best conclusion here is that for all the issues with the process, it's not like there are a bunch of way b

Cost (or rather bytes scanned) is sent back from the API on any queries or dry run/validation calls. There's a common chrome extension to put it in the legacy ui, and I believe the beta ui has it baked in (as part of validation)
