What would it take to bring something like this to the US? Is it just not road legal (safety wise) to meet North American standards? I'd pay a 50% (or more) premium to get it here.

I like https://github.com/neonbjb/tortoise-tts ; it doesn't do singing, but the voice reproduction is very good and -most importantly- it's open source and you can run it locally.

They collect data, which is what I hate about Windows too. But I doubt they sell it; it would be a pretty dumb thing to do. That's how they're building their "graph" thing that gets mentioned at every conference. The sam

I have 3 high-specced trashcans (Mac Pro 2013 with 12/24 cores and 32Gb RAM) that we were using as build agents at work and they were decommissioned after Ventura dropped support. Frankly, they struggle in desktop use with Monterey so

I don't understand why people are so excited to build this big thing on top of Llama, which is closed source, severely license restricted and we now know for a fact that Meta is going after users with the legal hammer. I'm sure if

You're scaring people away from selfhosting with that $15/month. There are plenty of cheaper options, including under-$1/month with a dedicated IPv4 and enough storage for thousands of songs (or hundreds if you're using

I recommend https://www.audiobookshelf.org/ for self-host audiobooks; they have apps for Android and iOS (you need TestFlight for the iOS one though).

EVs are a bad choice for a high-use vehicle like taxis / ubers. You'd need to recharge every 30 - 40 trips; in an ICE, that's 2 minutes at the pump - in an EV that's an hour of time you're not making an income.

To commute to work, I can take a highway or I can take a series of backroads 4x the distance, with maybe 20% having bike lanes. It would be very dangerous to attempt to bike either route. I'm driving a Leaf EV but would consider a smal

It would be much more useful if you could save / restore checkpoints. And because it gets wiped on every reboot it means you can never test software that needs to restart the machine (to install services and whatnot).
