Interesting choice to build a brand new JS engine from the ground up. Wondering if there's a life for that outside of the project as an embeddable JS / TS engine (especially after Microsoft abandoned Chakra/ChakraCore a few y

Sounds interesting, but are there more examples? The videos on twitter show almost no changes from the input voice to the generated output.

This is great, but I wish they'd focus as much on fundamentals. The bloat is tangible and measurable.

They never needed to go to a "next angle"; the "protect children" has almost always worked (with the occasional "prevent terrorism" thrown in for diversity) :)

There is no light-weight threading concept in standard C/C++, and the cost of one OS thread is at least 1Mb (stack) + 4Kb (tls) reserved memory (at least by default, on modern Windows), so for 1m threads that will be 1Tb of RAM :)

That's not really parsing HTML; well, I guess it is technically speaking parsing it, but most people understand building a tree (DOM) when they think of parsing HTML and that's not what those regex programs do.

It looks like ESP32-S3-BOX is out of stock everywhere but AliExpress. Does this work on ESP32-S3-BOX-Lite?

The entitlement of some European citizens on this thread is mind boggling. Of course Google will eventually launch Bard in Europe but I really hope they decide not to now :) I remember when GDPR rolled around, our entire company paused all

They didn't double the salary budget, that was such a well played PR bs by MS. They doubled the "salary increase" budget for lower levels (so instead of getting a 1% increase per year, they'd give out 2% - to the lower l

$579 I think they lost touch with what single board computer buyers are looking for. At that price, there are hundreds of mini pcs with similar (or better) specs, that are just as "hackable".

I've used it with llama.cpp; results are not great, but not entirely terrible (I'd say somewhere between GPT-2 and GPT-3). Still, totally free and open source is great and I'm looking forward to more development from them (an

That's true, but Edge is literally the same codebase and architecture, rebranded and with slightly tweaked UI, plus additional MS tracking. So Edge should get the exact same treatment.

Why would they build this on top of Llama when we know Meta has been going after projects using Llama? The ambiguous licensing poisons all usage up the stack...

I'm a trekkie and love the nostalgia of LCARS, but let's be honest: as an UX, it sucks (it's for show, not for usability).

I like Mattermost and Zulip: they have paid plans, but are also fully open source / self hostable, so you know your data stays with you if that's what you want.

In general I agree with you; but in this particular case, this is a "win" for Sony who can continue with their vast array of exclusives unhindered, and a "loss" for gaming customers due to that.
