I would call joins a bug of relational rather than a feature. If you have all the data in one collection, you don't need or want joins. For transactions, we do that server side (in our own system) as we have what we call temporary a

We do both documents, the internals of documents and a full model of space-time with our digital twin technology, but we've spent decades arriving at a extremely essentialized lower ontology schema with which we can model everything -

And why is that, what do you get out of relational in that case that Solr doesn't give you? The Solr boolean query interface is very impressive and very fast. The caveat is you need a good essentialized schema.

Try doing recursive hierarchical traversal with SQL, something we humans do all the time, like realizing something is a person over there, and then instantly having access to all the inherited properties of a person, and then predicting wha

The primary issue is if you are trying to model information the way humans use it and need it, relational tables are just not even close, hierarchies are a disaster, etc. We humans don't have/use tables mentally.

That would be a different approach than us as our entire schema consists of 4 doc types with 14 keys/functons which models the universe, and then we use specifications in the data to control inference and system operations etc. So it&

You could also argue that the 20th century relational database is a terrible way to model information as it is so different than the way we humans actually do. Hierarchies are a key to information modeling for us, but a disaster with relat

When you have to pay a mortgage on a very expensive building every month, and its empty, that's a very BAD thing. To avoid bankruptcy, the only option is to lower rent to get any kind of income. If even then the income isn't eno

A potential solution: 1. SF fixes the crime problem so its safe to be downtown. This requires many policy changes. 2. The rents are lowered to the point where the space is all used. This will cause many buildings to go bankrupt, be bought

Interesting, I wonder what the behavior is when someone turns FSD on when they are already on a highway as claimed in this case, as opposed to someone who has it on before entering. Maybe that's the issue, if you turn FSD on when alre

Thats an interesting claim, that the highway would trigger use of autopilot and not FSD. How do you know that? I think Tesla, who would know for a fact the status of FSD during this accident, might want to tweet that FSD wasn't on if

It's a silly question to ask as the models can't reason about anything and know nothing about the world. They just return statistically relevant output to input and mash the output in such a way that there is no way to know if th
