Build some biking infrastructure, it is super cheap on top of existing roads. Take away a small amount of space from cars and parking between all major common destinations, and bike/pedestrian usage will skyrocket if they feel safe goi

Having used most of the competition, none can consistently compete. While they may have some better numbers, configuration complexity and user experience make achieving them in real-world use difficult

This. For the majority of fatalities, the driver that caused the accident is rarely among the dead. They are generally in another vehicle. Everything is random. Decreasing the odds of failure will kill individuals, but even a software edge

18,000,000 seems pretty high. That might be peak. I doubt >5% of the population is the driver (not passenger) in a vehicle all day.

This would be difficult to target on sites that host content/articles. Would Medium get the tip, or the author of the article. How would the browser decide, and how would it differentiate ownership.

That is the purpose of the credit, to spur new companies and innovation from old ones.

I'd guess it is the opposite. Some people like startups because nothing is defined, everything is new. Having the option to build something you liked is better than being forced to use what is already used 'because it exists'

Most Tesla employees want to work on EVs, and it is a natural inclination for employees to move towards newer, shinier projects and want to switch company at some point. Lucid probably makes that choice super easy, since you'll be work

Altering videos feels very much like a key component of a site like YouTube, but also one that could easily be used to manipulate viewership. I feel like the only way to do it is to use a human moderated whitelist of top producers, and cl

Just like a busy restaurant drives more traffic, seeing a larger dollar amount or more patrons may encourage further donations. Patreon also has decent message distribution channels and makes subscriptions easy for both sides.

Unfortunately, most people can't make it to a comparable level of usefulness as other existing projects without some level of financial support. The marketing is required to even try. This is the dilemma most startups face, balancing p

Seems like this shouldn't be the default. As accepting and then refunding a payment is so uncommon, it should require extra code for that case instead.

Aren't we past the point of having too much? Making plastic single use goods obsolete and reducing all the Amazon purchases that get used once if ever would reduce total output. More focus could be put on quality (I know this can'

The car itself may not be the future, but cheap tunnels and multi-car (let's call them trains) will be the future. Asian cities already have amazing subway systems that just work so much better than surface streets. The biggest improve

I generally agree with reduced sentences, if any at all, for minor offences. Once someone becomes a 3+ time offender, it is worth removing them from the street. The majority of cases are caused by a tiny number of people who do it serially

Oculus Quest covers the vast majority of consumers. Only a minority have a gaming PC and will dedicate a room to it. The convenience of 5 seconds from off to being fully in VR is the main selling point.
