What's the text editor? If anything could get me off Emacs, it'd come from the Hippoverse.

It seems to be conventional to use the homoiconicity of Tcl to serialize data out in a way intended to be interpreted back in again as code [0], but I don’t think I’ve seen this recommended by Lispers. [0] - e.g. https://trs.jpl.

One of the debates I always enjoy when it shows up on HN is the comparison of lightweight serialization formats, especially, e.g., sexprs vs json. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen Prolog terms show up, but they seem apposite.

I believe several of the canonical Lisp books implement a simple Prolog as an exercise. I’m pretty sure Norvig’s Paradigms of Artifical Intelligence Programming, pg's On Lisp, and Winston & Horn’s Lisp all do.

I have a branch and remote called "publish", and a branch and remote called "draft". I suppose if I ever accidentally pushed the draft branch to the publish remote, I'd just delete the branch from the remote.

I hope to hear more about your project. And fwiw, my very limited experience suggests that Racket may be a great way to start.

Thank you! Do you have an end-to-end write up for the experience? Tooling, libraries, deployment, etc?

If there were an anchor for it, I'd link directly to the section in which a list comprehension is used to solve a "constrained combinatorial problem," such as the zebra (logic) puzzle. Fascinating.

Honest answer: I carry portable FM radios around with me all the time and enjoy my local stations immensely and wish I could rewind to hear a title or composer's name, or some melody or similar, almost daily. I realize I could buil

This sounds to me like not a failure of automation as such, but of process/knowledge management by the team that builds the automation. No process is permanently exempt from entropy.

I'm a big fan of Elixir and Erlang and have an Elixir app in production, but saying it "provides Lisp's benefits," is a bit cavalier.

Nice work, OP. I clicked with a chip on my shoulder the size of my Emacs init file, but was pleasantly surprised to find something that reminds me more of Hypercard. Best of luck.

The most useful Bullet Journal lesson for me was having periodic task migrations (weekly, in my case). Infinite task lists don't work for me.

Can you say more about "Being so simple, the contents can be exported to some other format very easily"? That has been a sticking point for me, only having the export of individual notes to PDF as a built-in option.

I think it’s the kind of book about which there are several things you could say it’s “really” about, and what you think it’s really about may vary according to circumstances. When I read it as an adult with sons, it felt to me like it was

I think that all else being equal, simplicity is to be preferred over complexity. You're pointing out that all else is never equal; ok, cool; but it's hard to imagine anyone finding value in deliberately complicating things. Simpl
