Holy Christ I do not want to “engage with a book’s content” any further than reading the words on the page. My Kindle already has too many garbage features (dictionary? I have one in my phone). All I want is a physical home button, a physic

You could write a Snapchat “clone” but not with anything close to its performance. Snapchat has to be the most performant app I have ever seen.

But their WhatsApp business model was not self sufficient. They were charging $1/year which is less than the operating cost of the servers and bandwidth.

Big companies are inefficient because too much is at stake! A zero-revenue startup can publish an ad, and if it is offensive to the point of trashing the brand, literally nothing was lost. A big company could lose billions of dollars from t

Those kinds of communities aren’t created by towns full of telecommuting programmers — they are created by diverse economic activity and people out on the street doing their jobs.

Elon Musk says the quality has vastly improved and continues to improve. That means today’s Model 3 is worse than tomorrow’s and yesterday’s is worse than today’s.

NewEgg’s operating margin is probably between 3 and 10%, so that bounced transaction cost them ~$250 in profit. Would they have lost more than that by fulfilling your order size in 2009 if it had been fraud?

I have not been able to get good frame rates from Zoneminder connected to MJPEG streaming on Raspberry Pi. I figure I'd need to record the video locally on the Pi but that's about as far as I've gotten.
