I'm going to read this again after I post this comment. Everything he says applies equally to me. Thought I had something more insightful to say. Guess not.

This doesn't seem to be really utilizing the value of lazy enumerators. If this was correctly using lazy enumerators, it wouldn't require a range to be passed in, and you would take values from the resulting lazily evaluated enumerators unt

Not sure why all the comments here are harping on the "one line" thing. The point is that you can transfer money with one command and no pre-existing state. That's pretty great.

You made me think. The idea that I have the option to end it makes life more bearable. Give it your best go and reevaluate.

I started seeing a therapist recently, to address the issues that lead to my depression. If things go south on me again, I have someone to talk to. Kind of like having a lawyer on retainer. Thank you for your compassion.

I've thought of suicide. Not "seriously," but it's crossed my mind. Sometimes life just seems so hard. My reaction to this is that he was a brilliant guy, and it was such a waste. Such a pointless waste. It makes the idea of giving up mysel

I don't think that "not caring about stuff" and "relying on serendipity" necessarily go together. Not caring about stuff that doesn't matter and being good at things go hand in hand.

I DO defend these people. Free speech is free speech I accept the "fire in a theater" exception. Otherwise I don't care what people said, I defend their right to say it.

You state that the image model is good for a single programmer, but not large teams. How much of this do you feel is due to the lack of tools (VCS, IDEs, etc) equipped to deal with the image model, and how much is inherent to the models?

The Smalltalk model (simplifying horribly as storing functions/code units instead of files) has significant and obvious advantages, and it's been around for 30 years. The fact that the file model continues to dominate suggests to me that th

These are public schools, and many accept 20% or less of qualified applicants. The rejected kids will likely be educated in other public schools. So ..... why don't we have more exam schools????

Agreed. On the scale of Facebook's resources, building well-functioning apps just isn't a hard problem. Not saying it's not hard, just saying it's not hard on the scale of Facebook's resources.
