You can use docker client from WSL and have it use the Windows docker running in the background. No need for VM https://nickjanetakis.com/blog/setting-up-docker-for-windows...

I use WSL at work and use windows docker as a server... I use docker client form wsl ubuntu and make it connect to the Docker server running on windows. I do the same thing with databases. I’ve grown fond of this approach, as it integrates

I’ve gotten used to Vimium [0] (a chrome extension that emulates Vim commands in the browser) and I rarely use the mouse or arrow keys now. For me, that has been the biggest leap in productivity for my CRs. I agree that it’s nice to review

I’ve worked in the industry of SaaS vs. Enterprise long enough to see Google Cloud (with all its compute power) get turned down because it requires the corporation to share its data.

I know this is pretty much a blanket question I could make about any distro but: Can anyone here share their "switch to BSD" story and what advantages it offered over their departing distro?

OO is good for programmers to model problems, not for yielding the best result. I find that thinking in terms of functional code (info being passed from one place to another; not diluted into a lot of objects with state) yields the best res

I'm an aviation enthusiast and have started developing check-list for maintainers of the software I develop at work. I hope it will reduce cognitive stress in situations of on-call.

Sorry, I now realize I've been very sloppy with my wording: I use this as a Terminal theme (Windows Console Host) [0] (you need ColorTool, which supports iterm format for themes), a vim theme (nord-vim) [1], for dircolors [2], and a tm

I’ve used this theme for 3 years or more now and I can’t live without it. It’s soothing and distinct at the same time. I have everything in this color range. There are few themes with such a wide range of ports. The support is fantastic too

I needed a templated language recently (couldn’t do with Mustache methods). Looked at jsonnet but it looked quite abandoned. Ended up finding Json-E [0]. Pretty powerful, and give you the option to pass in methods to the context as to expos

I see your point... but it’s hard to believe someone would stalk you to grab your hair and sell it to a company. If you give a company your dna voluntarily and agree to the terms permitting them sell it though... different story.

I was honestly baffled to see the proliferation of DNA analysis companies... aren't people concerned about the importance of the data they're giving out? AND you pay to give them that data... leaves me speechless. How accustomed w
