The hacker culture is still there but hacker social media (unless carefully curated) is flooded with optimized content to the point where the cool stuff is hard to find and you only see the grifter techs.

The author doesn’t criticize the use of AI. It does criticize putting technology over user experience and there is a wonderful quote from Steve Jobs that illustrates the point.

I’m on the application side and I’m curious, what role do cover letters fulfill in your hiring pipeline? P.S. Do you need an MLE?

Some[1] do invest, others don’t. Personally, I see myself on the poor side, rather than the rich side and what I care about is having a good life however short it is. Family, friends and adventure. I don’t believe in the afterlife in any fo

I don’t quite think so. I think we’re in a status quo that prevents/obfuscates a more efficient economic activity because it inflates GDP which makes the politicians and economists happy. The magic number won’t go up much if you call s

Who checks dependencies other than the author of the library ? The only time I check them is when they break and that's not a good thing. I see this argument as “it’s not my job” type of argument. Most of the time you just install and

I think that’s more of a hindsight than a concrete wish people had. Audio player, cell phone and camera were already implemented by “dumbphone” Nokias. I think adding mobile internet was a mistake. I use it all the time but it doesn’t add m

Significant other was studying removal methods for those chemicals and as soon as I learned enough about them, I threw all of my non-stick pans away. Learning to coat steel pans in oil to make them non-stick-ish has been a great help.

This is more a personal stance than anything else but digital scarcity shouldn’t exist. We’ve created this digital world that doesn’t have much of the physical constraints on it, why introduce them into it. What’s the point?
