I remember reading somewhere that Google used dmoz ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DMOZ ) as seed page for their crawler. Not sure if it's true though...

I think the title's a bit misleading though... This guy is obviously talking about dependency injection. Things like callbacks, observers, events, ... are also types of IoC.
