While they're removing most of the most negative changes ('peak pricing' and the pointless 'take a picture of your ticket stub') for people who remain subscribed (pray they don't alter it any further), they

You can purchase a New York EZPass in cash at places like Costco, and reload it with cash at any 7-11 or other Visa ReadyLink merchant. You are required to register the EZPass to get a reload card in order to do this (which just requires yo

The people most likely to use these features I imagine are also the ones most likely to turn off telemetry. Making decisions to remove long-standing features based on telemetry seems short-sighted to me because of this reason.

AirPods were actually completely rushed to market and were hand-soldered according to teardowns. There were tons of supply chain constraints and bugs. I don't feel like this is the best example for your argument.

Yeah, taking all the risk if the project fails is just their job for having the unmitigated temerity to be rich.

Hopefully it isn't yet another case of smug Europeans preening and going "Oh, you stupid Americans, our regulators are different and would never levy gigantic fines. Instead, they come give you a hug and have a cup of tea and po

Reverse that. The US has always had online terminals because we didn't get EMV initially. Taking impressions and filling out charge slips was 'online' (call the auth center,) swipe transactions were online, and then we just d

Costs are exactly the same for EMV or non-EMV (swiped) processing. If your acquirer is doing something different, you need to dump them, because it's so far out of industry standard I'd literally be speechless. The only speedup fr

> This is clickbait. Apple was sued by VirtnetX and forced to change how it works such that it relies on relay servers run by Apple. The author knows this, and knows that open sourcing a protocol that relies on Apple’s relay servers does

Turning on DND blocks all your other notifications too. You get very little control over how much the phone can bother you, and this is still my biggest complaint about iOS. Even if you have a silent ringtone set for someone, an incoming ph

You actually can turn off cellular network calling altogether, if you are willing to do that. Dial (star)#67# (or call 611 if it doesn't show up there) to see what number your voicemail center is. Then dial (star)21(star)1(that numbe

I use Enpass for this, which uses any kind of regular cloud storage backend and has a fully-featured desktop client and browser fill plugins for free. The mobile clients cost money ($10 per platform, once) which I think makes perfect sense.

The password manager integration is a public standard. More annoyingly, though, apps can also find out if you've pasted into a field and then immediately clear it (some rinkydink banking apps do this.) So it's a 2-pronged problem.
