I notice that in the log of the recordings that it made, it specifically says "started by hotword." If that had instead said "started by long press," I think this may have been easier to figure out as a button issue vers

Lots of comments from people suffering issues and missing their favorite plugins, so I thought I'd jump in as a former Chrome user. Firefox quantum is really very good. This is the first time in a long time that I've been able to

Call me crazy, but this seems like a pretty honorable scheme for profiting off of content. Someone put effort in to create content, and has the option of putting this kind of paywall up. There is a consumer choice made to sell their own att

Had a team running on Askbot [1] for a few years, but nowadays we've been running on Questions for Confluence. I feel like most Atlassian shops will probably default to that route. [1] https://github.com/ASKBOT/ask

You can actually do a plaintext import / export of all of your chat histories from the menu in the conversations screen (at least in Android.) It won't use OS level backup/restore, but I feel like that would've taken fla

Speculating for fun: If you read into Signal's group chat, it ends up being indistinguishable from standard chat in the sense that the server is unaware of any "group" abstraction. The clients figure out how to thread message

At the same time, metadata collection via a gag-ordered pen register on Signal is still possible in principle, this would just make it slurpable by existing prism type tools potentially already operating on iCloud. Those truly concerned wit

I got some when I launched, but I haven't really found a use for them. Sad to see so many products sharing the fate of the Apple watch.

This isn't a vulnerability in the signal protocol. More a vulnerability in a particular UX decision that WhatsApp made (consciously, even.)

I use keybase.pub to host a whole hugo [1] site. It was very easy to put it together. Updating it is just a hugo + rsync to my keybase public folder. I also stash some dotfiles in my private folder, and it's extremely handy for sharing

I like this approach: https://github.com/ellotheth/pipethis Either check a pgp signature if there is one, or skim the script before executing. Also covers off that pesky dropped connection problem. curl ¦ sh is too han

Yeah, fair enough. That's a very good way of putting it, and I know exactly what you mean. I think the hardest part about implementing the Vim keybindings is that they're intrinsically linked to the way that Vim models text and op

I will add some of my own opinions: My feeling is that real value of Vim is its novel approach to modal text manipulation, and you shouldn't let the fact that it has a standalone lightweight reference implementation usefully installed

I agree with you, but in the cases where it really matters you can still avoid it! There is community activity around code generation to fill in for the cases where generics would really be the right answer. Basically, you make a template a

Go has an interesting history surrounding its stacks. Originally the stack was a doubly linked-list (segmented stack), but it changed into a more vector-like format (contiguous stacks) in 1.3. Here's a pretty good write-up: http:/
