"runtime checks on array/slice access and integer under/overflow" I'm probably missing something. I feel like you'd get this and a lot of the other benefits you list if you just compile C/C++ with Debug op

I saw a talk by a guy working with OSM and he explained that they have lots of issues with licensing. Government data is often not compatible with their wacky licensing requirements. They then need to plead with bureaucracy to relicense the

Is this a good choice for drawing vector graphics? (Inkscape is a bit clunky.. or maybe I'm just not good at using it)

Woah - thank you for taking the time to explain everything. It's challenging to find all the info so concisely in one spot. This has been really useful and educational :)

Thanks you for all that! It does look like it simplifies stuff in that there are no more config files! So that's really cool. I will need to read the docs a bit later b/c from the landing page it's all still confusing. This i

From reading this I get the sense the problems are lower level and there is no impetus to fix them. I'm embarrassed to say, having programmed for over a decade, and running Linux for half of that, I still have no idea how to setup my c

Any idea what the depreciation on batteries is? If you "used up" battery that's due to be sent to the recycler, How much of that 1200 could you hope to recoup? (I assume a power train can only be sold for scrap for a tiny fra

I guess what I don't get is, wouldn't an LTS be way way easier to maintain than a rolling, constantly breaking, release. Heck, id even prolly go through the effort of maintain my own software as a package if it's something I

Is there a reason neither Guix nor Nix have made an LTS-type repo? A rolling release seems at odds with the stability granted by reproducible builds. Maybe I have a miopic view, but what's nice with Ubuntu LTS is you know everyone and

To be clear, there isn't really any org magic going on. You can also do the same identical stuff directly from a REPL and just spit the SVGs to file. I've also used the same stuff in a GUI - where the SVGs are rendered directly in

It's ~500 pages vs. ~2.5k pages... the former already seems like a big project - the latter sounds impossible. (I'm assuming you're not skimming and actually doing the problem sets) Is that in rambling prose? Dense math?
