I started writing the same thing, and thought I'd just add onto this instead. Tried using Vim because I like the look of how flexible it is to tile windows, but I just cannot move away from Sublime's file search. I don't even click tabs tha

I'm 22, so you might say I haven't experienced the full spectrum of banking products, but for what I have used I really like HSBC. Always quick to answer the phone, and maybe not so specific to their service levels but they were one of the

This happened in 2009. Just because its on the Reddit front page doesn't mean we need to see it again.

Frankly I'm surprised you need examples. A few companies I've worked with didn't create products, they literally created CMS based websites, and when home-time came they clocked off. I'd rather not link to them (unwanted attention). But you

This is a really short-sighted view, there are literally thousands (if not more) of freelancers and development companies who have no wish to work on their own products. It just isn't in some peoples mindsets. They literally just don't care

What a joke, this is all getting absolutely out of hand. It genuinely worries me not that the internet gets totally locked down, just that something I love is being proved lawless by the very people who are complaining about lawbreaking. Co

Hey - play it safe. Company relationships can be tough, and if you think your not the type that could maybe handle all outcomes (you know, flit if off confidently and play the game as it were) just be mindful of the consequences should thin

I'm not sure "In my experience" suggests the OP is unaware of what he's talking about, in fact, quite the opposite.

For the last 2 years I've had a job, ran a business in the evenings. Coded every night for as long as I can remember, even taught myself to code on said schedule. I'm 22, socialize Saturday night, the odd Friday night. Works. Anyone can do

I downloaded a N64 emulator a week or two ago, and the spam on my phone has been relentless. I'm literally getting a dozen notifications a day and more worryingly its actually installing apps, "Offer of the day!" and such. I didn't mind it

Yeah I see that. My mind literally doesn't know which movie to pick first that has created things that aren't possible, and probably will never be. My point is, I'm just not sure the recording part is the amazing bit, or even the creation i

I saw a hologram of will.i.am at DLD in Munich alongside Cheryl Cole roughly 3 years ago. I don't see what the fanfare is about? It seems like we have just discovered it, but its by no means nothing new.

Just came to say I'm pretty pissed someone has done this, I don't want to click on your website. I'm not interested. I want them to appear on HN, so I can glimpse on the front-page. Edit: just clicked the link and I'm even more annoyed! I

This is totally genius. The lesser of two evils I admit when compared to pay-for-content, but a pretty good gimmick. I think the model of paying for things in essentially data is totally revolutionary. Its been implicitly done for so long,

You my friend need a good old friendly slap in the mush. Because otherwise, you will never be successful. Its as simple as that. Over with the harshness, I know what you mean. I used to be self employed and at times I found it tough, I'll u

I think these two packages could become a great learning resource for noobies. I'm a Ruby guy, but am definitely going to take a look into this version, should add usually difficult to find "context". Nice work :)

If I'm genuinely honest, I'm not sure if I would have made the same decision. I actually thought for a minute or two that Connectrode was a city, and he didn't want to leave his family. That I get. But I mean, its OK to love something and w

Ahh yes that indeed was what I was referring too. Interestingly it is in fact (if I'm reading this right) mentioned as being exempt: "certain claims of monetary damages against the United States are exempt from sovereign immunity" [1] [1]

Yeah, I think the interesting thing here is the flip-side of them (Mega) not being a US entity in anyway. I read a while ago (no links I'm afraid) that essentially a US agency/regulator has to give permission for a US based entity to sue an

As far as I'm concerned anything extra added into the mix is too much. I love my editor, browser and DB management app. I mean, best of luck to them but I just couldn't work with it.
