Nice! I like the logo (maybe your school's mascot?). Keep making apps like this and there's a good chance you could have your own business and work schedule after your schooling.

I prefer the current version of Yahoo Mail over the initial version of GMail. Perhaps GMail got a lot better since its initial version; I haven't checked.

Those are good points. Perhaps an alternative is to have many multi-use small containers, like I have for hiking. Something's got to be better than always using one-time usage plastic bottles. Of course recycling them helps, but so few peop

I was going to offer the idea of patent troll insurance, but someone's already on it: http://www.businessinsurance.com/article/20121023/NEWS07/121... Assuming that abstract ideas are usually intersected by earlier abstract ideas (since th

Even better, use a multi-gallon reusable water container, if it'll be used repeatedly.

In the US, businesses can legally reject employment based on an arrest record. In France it's illegal to post arrest records where there's no conviction; probably wanted posters are an exception though.

Good article. Not too surprising given what great pets rats can make. They are smart and can be friendly.

You have the best way, avoid such people. You can also expect the lying and mitigate it. With practice you'll have less of your time wasted. In some cases you'll learn to ignore it. For examples watch the show Pawn Stars .

Maybe Apache should have a braindead on/off setting, so it works better than Nginx after a single tweak.

In Belize or the US it's the same. Police want to question at their own facility so they can employ unfair methods and detain for trial if they wish. I did put "months" instead of "years" because presumably in Belize it's not as bad as in t

The part of the plight I empathize with is where the police want to question him, not over the phone, but in a place where they can both question him unfairly and also have the possibility to detain him before trial, for months.

I wouldn't be surprised if that quickly changes, since the ad placeholders (center right of page) have recently become revenue-generating ads.

Good points. Parallel code is getting easier to write, e.g. the Go language, thus likely more common. I think web servers alone (serving more users per machine) could drive multi-core advances.

Nice, I didn't realize that ability to connect from anywhere. Have you found DynamoDB to be expensive in practice? Of course the cost is mitigated by the admin they handle.

You have to accept that a partner might end up with an unfair share of equity, just like marriage. In the beginning, a partner who contributes less time than you but has a better track record of success may well deserve an equal stake.

You shouldn't let strangers use your car. You are liable for the vehicle regardless who's driving it. Photo traffic tickets and tolls are just the start of the liability issues. When the stranger driving it gets into an accident, you'll be

I see no obvious chip. If cloud apps and data can become unavailable with no immediate support response, they shouldn't be critically used by a business that desires to stay in business, period. For non-critical apps the cloud could be fine

True. It flags companies you shouldn't work for. They're asking for proof of your answer to their mean-spirited question. If that thinking has infected the whole company you'll be harmed in more ways later.

Lie, ethical when someone's asking an unfair question. You go into the interview knowing the appropriate value, which is generally what you want to make at the new job, assuming it's not at the extreme high end of the range and you have the

I'd like to see 3D Systems be made to pay for the frivolous suit against Kickstarter. Why not sue Formlabs' ISP while they're at it? Surely the ISP's service was used to promote the new printer as well.

I have a hard time grasping this. If the books are in order, I wouldn't expect to later find significant fraud affecting the books. For example, if the books show $x in orders pending, I'd sample the orders to verify within some confidence

Maybe Microsoft will get it right for Windows 9, like they did for Windows 7. It might be too late, though. I never thought I'd use a Mac, if only because Windows was good enough, and I like Windows 7. But knowing the Upgrade Train is appro

Nice! I added this one to my favorites. As I type it often finds an address elsewhere, until the address is completed, but it's still easier to get to the desired street view than in Google Maps. I even enjoy the extra views.

"Support the troops" is indirect propaganda. The thinking promoted is, you should support the troops (who deserve it because they are blameless) by supporting the war, even when the war is unnecessary.
