This is the sort of feature that I could easily see being controlled by splicing some wires together. I guess it depends on if it's just a switch or a more intelligent proximity sensor, but surely there's some way to jerry rig it.

CPVC might be better than PVC, but it's still way worse than copper or pex. Both PVC and CPVC will shatter if stressed beyond it's yield strength. Go hit it with a hammer, and compare that to hitting a copper pipe or pex. This is

I've had multiple family members and close friends with pit bulls. They are all extremely affectionate, loving dogs. I've also seen several of the aforementioned dogs turn aggressive in the blink of an eye. I think what makes them

I used it 15 years ago, back when I had dial up. It was extremely handy, since it could continue a download if I paused it or got kicked off (without starting from the beginning).

I know this is annoying, but you learn electronics by doing. First, you need to know the basics. Ohms law (V=IR), the power law (P=VI) the two Kirchoffs laws, voltage divider, what a capcitor, inductor, mosfet, and diode do. Most IC compani

It's interesting. I love math, and it's always been super easy for me. Yet ask me to play an instrument or paint a painting, and I'd have an easier time flying to Mars.

How do you ace honor physics and trigonometry, yet struggle to understand algebra? High school physics and trig are basically just coming up with the correct algebraic equation, and then solving it. (Or just turn the crank, my physics teach

They're removing the bigger dams in the winter so there's more water to flush the sediment down stream.

We have this thing called voting where we could chose senators that do work for us.

How about getting some Senators that actually do pay attention to what they are voting on? The first step is making it public that some of them are losing their capabilities (although that should be obvious by watching McConnell or Pelosi).

If you're asocial, and want to go to church but avoid the social aspect, ironically it's easier to blend into the large crowd than to attend a small church. If you're a strange face in a small church, everyone is going to sta

Depends on what it's shot with. A large caliber rifle is obviously going to leave some damage. One or two pellets from a shotgun aren't going to be obvious in a half decomposed bird.

It's particularly nasty to have it popup when you've already read a couple paragraphs and are starting to get invested in it. At least Washington Post and NYTimes are upfront with their barrier.

I haven't looked at LuaJIT, but Lua is written in this weird bastard language using the C preprocessor. All of the terseness of Lisp, with no type system (since it's the C preprocessor), and the added fun of pointer arithmetic.

If you're implying that the tribes are going to financially benefit from new land, no. First of all, there's a ton of land already available, this is a very rural area. Secondly, they're doing habitat restoration.
