(And did JWZ get rid of the special picture for people with Hacker News in the referrer?)
- guiambros 3y agoI was thinking the same. This is the second link I click today to jwz.org mostly expecting to see the usual "welcome HN" page, only to be surprised by actual content. Anyone knows if he has grown out of his hatred for HN, or is this just a misconfigured server?
- NobodyNada 3y agoNo, HN has started adding the "noreferer" attribute to outgoing links so that sites cannot detect or block HN traffic.
- guiambros 3y agoAhh, that makes a lot of sense now. Genius, thank you! (Just bummer that a lot of legitimate sites won't be able to figure out who's sending them traffic. But I guess http referer (sic) isn't very reliable these days anyway)
