I switched to zim years ago and found it has all the features that I need but is much faster and I think easier to install (though I haven’t installed either for some time). https://zimfw.sh/

Whenever there are stories about bushfires in Australia there is inevitably discussion about how the regeneration is amazing and how fires are part of the ecosystem. While this is true to an extent, it is important to point out that in rece

This is really cool, one thing that would make it much more useful for me is to have the ability to easily select which project you want to use, especially if it could have the same fuzzy search as resources. My company has hundreds of GCP

I found that liquibase doesn't really support rollbacks, particularly with mysql as you can't do transactions for schema updates, if the migration fails in the middle of an update it just gets left in a half-updated state.

I tried using wanderlog on a recent 4 month long trip and it became totally unusable after adding maybe 2 months worth of things to it. It has some really baffling UI/UX decisions too, like not showing the address of accommodations, ju

I'm surprised that more comments aren't mentioning this. I've recently moved from a stack managed by AWS CDK to one managed by Pulumi on GCP and the difference is stark. The building blocks that AWS provides allow spinning up

This is great, I don't have a concrete use-case right now but can definitely see myself returning to this in the future. One thing that would be handy is having a way to either accept a ffmpeg cli command, or convert from a cli command

FWIW I found the whole video quite interesting, I had never really considered that there could be sound recordings from before anyone had thought of a way to play them back. Though I do remember an old mythbusters episode [1] where they tes

Yep, looking good now, thanks! Other datasets that don't have CORS headers still don't work ie. https://sql-workbench.com/#config=%7B%22plugin%22%3A%22Datag... but I'm guessing that's inherent limitation

This is great, I've been meaning to build something similar for some time. I tried to run the queries from the tutorial but hit lots of CORS errors loading the datasets, is there any way that you have found to work around those?

Have you tried getting in touch with GCP to see if they would refund the charge? I've heard plenty of stories of cloud services refunding large one-off accidental spends like this one.

This looks really cool, one note on the homepage though - the volume on the intro video is really really low, I had to crank my system volume way up to be able to hear it at all.

While that is obviously rorting the system, isn't it kind of ideal from a carbon capture perspective? One of the big problems with planting forests for carbon capture is that they often burn down, and even when they don't, the nat

Seems like some pretty dubious claims. If the bike was more efficient than a normal bike it'd be pretty easy to demonstrate that by having the same rider ride the same course on the NuBike and a normal bike.

This is really cool, one nitpick on the basics tutorial though. It could be confusing for beginners to write `select distinct(event_type)` because it makes it look like `distinct` is a function, and makes it looks like distinct only applies
